Got a Lender???

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 Hometown Realty

I am getting so frustrated with the lenders I've been referring business to. I usually give my clients a list of a few, if they don't have one, but lately they've all been disappointing me in some way. Some of them are too conservative on their programs and too demanding on their criteria. Others have terrible communications skills. Others are cocky. Others close late. Others can't perform at all. I just don't know who to refer anymore?!

If I could pick one, my ideal lender would be "creative," a good communicator, not require the birth certificate for their first born child (obviously I'm joking, but it's not far off), have modest/competitive fees, would appreciate my referrals verbally and/or with a card, and would be reachable after hours and on weekends.

I have a situation now where one client has tried to work with two different lenders that were on my referral list and both have been arrogant, and have not performed. She has over a million in the bank, owns a home that she is looking to sell and replace, has steady work and good credit, so it is not like there is something wrong with her.

I seriously would love to know of lenders that you have had consistently good luck with. Let me know if you have a referral for me!

Best wishes this holiday season.

We use mortgage brokers because they are not tied to one lender and can offer alternatives when needed. Brian Grovier does a great job here in Palm Beach.

Kristen, I had two lenders I would refer clients to back when I started in the business in 2008.  Both have since moved on to other jobs.  I DO have a lender I now am thrilled with.  She is all those things you want in a lender...and with underwriting in-house, she guarantees my clients will close on-time (or earlier).  Hope you get some referrals from other AR CA friends!

There are plenty of great mortgage loan originators out there.

There is no reason to settle for anything or anyone that you do not like.

The process for a home loan is extending with new banking loan over sight restrictions and removal of contact from all the players. So prepare for lousy turn around times and help the real estate buyer adopt those expectations that are the new realistic! Like your blog post and videos!
