ActiveRain Community Support- A Happy Holiday Wish To ActiveRain

It all started back in March of 2007 when I finally decided to accept an invite from Randy Prothero and start blogging on ActiveRain. I jumped right in not knowing what I was doing and actually started doing it for ‘fun’. Then I started reading from other members about why they blog and how they get business and referrals from other members who they connected with.

It’s been a long journey to gain experience of the whole ActiveRain who, what, when, how and why about blogging although it’s been a rewarding time indeed!  With business, referrals and the most important..the friendships formed (how are we going to know who to refer to if not for connecting with each other????!!!) with other members.

We connect with each other by writing unreal content (not just a couple paragraphs just for points) with information or even a personal post so the consumer and our friends can see the PERSON BEHIND THESE WORDS.  It started with my nickname from TLW …I was WOOHOO SALLY and onward to the Positive Attitude for the Weary Soul group. My transparency in writing gave me a ‘personality’ and I wrote as if I were ‘talking’ with the reader …not AT them.

I met a few of these members and soon found that I didn’t need to meet them face to face because I connected with those that wrote and conversed in the same manner I did. I’ve spoken to many a member here as well and connect on other sites with these same members to stay in touch.

ActiveRain IS the ‘meeting place’ of all in our industry and somewhere down the line we may eventually meet in person.  Until then, don’t think for a moment that social networking doesn’t expand your business.  It starts from a post, comments, commenting on their posts, talking on the phone, meeting in person (or even not if the conversation is real), and then a referral from the trust formed through those connections.

Bottom line, it’s the ActiveRain Community support that leads us to ActiveRain Success Stories.
