“A Christmas Carol” is being presented as a live stage production at the Bijou Theatre in downtown Bridgeport on December 25, 5:00pm – 7:30pm. The Bijou Theatre is located at 275 Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport. This is not an adaptation, but the actual original story as written by Charles Dickens and abridged by him for public readings.
An ode to Christmas past, Timothy Deenihan's one man dramatic version offers a solo equivalent of an expansive cast, dense with character. When told in the wondrously intimate venue of The Bijou Theatre, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol transports the audience to a place without their technology – indeed, to a place without even the technical wizardry of modern theatre – and allows them to become not only audience to storytelling at its best, but part of the very story itself! The show promises to be a wonderful celebration of the warm power of humanity and the magic of imagination – the very spirit of the season itself!
Timothy Deenihan is a classically trained actor (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London) best known in the United Kingdom for his work in the tv series, Brookside.
