Yesterday I had the joy of participating in three different celebrations of the birth of Christ.
At 2:00 Kathy and I and our daughter Joanna went to the Christmas Eve service at our home church, First Alliance.
At 5:00 Kathy and I and Joanna went to the Christmas Eve with our daughter Marnie and granddaughter Caroline at Marnie's home church Trinity Hill United Methodist.
At 9:00 I went with my son Andrew's family to their home church, St Patrick's Anglican.
One of the joys and wonders of the Celebration of the birth of The Christ Child for me is how it is celebrated with such diversity in different denominations.
The wonder and power of the story is magnified by people around the world with diverse cultures and diverse worship styles.
For me the proof of the story of God's love is in the diversity.
Only God can create such diversity that unifies people around the world. When man works hard to bring diversity without the power of God man ultimately man brings destruction. We have dictatorial despots throughout history that have slaughtered millions trying to create unity.
The birth of a tiny baby in the most humble circumstances, The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the true source of Love and Unity.
