Last week we have gotten more than a foot of snow here in Colorado Springs. This inspired my husband and I to pack up the Canon 7D camera and go for a Night-Snowshoe-Hike. This is where I have to get briefly get into why I decided to take some video of our adventure.....
Here is the backstory: Evelyn started it! In her blogpost she had embedded a video and asked for constructive feedback. I gave her my opinion and then continued to write blogpost with some vlogging tips. I then happened to come across Richard Yates' post about vlogging which I then re-blogged.
You still with me? In short, I was motivated and itching to get out with my camera to record a new movie. It would be cold, holding a camera could be a problem. But to be honest, I had NEVER made an actual video with my iPhone. What better opportunity then NOW?
Back to the snowshoeing. We climbed up the side of our house mountain (we live right next to NORAD on Cheyenne Mountain., Broadmoor neighborhood) and set up the Canon to take some awesome pictures. The night was clear and crisp, the view was breath taking, snowshoeing through the dark woods became an adventure.

Since editing is NOT a favorite part of mine. Therefore, I decided not to upload the video clips onto my desktop, but edit directly on my iPhone instead. I downloaded the iMovie app for iPhones and started editing.
If you don't mind the very limited options with this app, then you might want to try this yourself. It's great for "on-the-fly-editing". To me it the app was worth the price of $4.99. I also downloaded another app that offers more effects, but I didn't get to that quite yet.
So here is the finished result:
