Greater Toronto Area - Housing Sales - Monthly Trends - November 2011

The number of sales reported in the Toronto Real Estate Board's ("TREB") MLS® over the year has seasonal trends as shown by the chart below which tracks sales in TREB's MLS® system from January 2008 to November 2011.  In general, the number of sales during December tends to be the lowest during the year, while sales in the spring /summer tend to be at the highest levels.  Sales during 2009 and late 2008 were lower than in recent earlier years due to conditions in the financial market.

The number of sales for November 2011 has improved compared to the same period in 2010 but is lower compared to November 2009.  The number of sales is considerably higher than November 2008 which was shortly after the financial credit crisis began.  Overall, the market has been performing very nicely during calendar 2011.

Best wishes for continued success in 2012!

Home buyers are finding wonderful purchase opportunities during the holidays.  The selection is large, the prices are attractive and the mortgage interest rates are at record low levels.

Happy Holidays!  Happy New Year!

Hi Roy - Happy New Year 2012 and all the best for 2012.

Hi Debe - Glad to hear that your market is performing well.  This is quite different than large portions of the USA.
