Help! I need help uploading photos.

I need help loading pictures up to AR and other places.  I Have already uploaded some but I can not remember how I did it.  I can't remember how to resize it and what size it should be.  On top of it all I have dial up.  They haven't given us rural folks any high speed yet.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Oh I'm so sorry about the dial-up!  High speed has spoiled us all.
There have been a number of recent posts on photos.  Try How to Post Photos on Active Rain by Kristal Kraft.  then go for it with Advanced Photo Posting Tips for Active Rainby Margaret Woda

I found lost of help by using the search option.   Good Luck!

when youre writing a blog theres a bar on top that has B for Bold, etc. clic on the tree picture then clic on the little square then on browse look for the pic you want then clic on appearance then lower the left number to 300 then just clic on the right side numbers, they will change when u clic on them. then clic insert.

How do I change the size before I upload?  I think that is what is affecting the upload.  Computers - great when they do what you want them to do.

I can't wait some day to have high speed.  By that time I will probably behind the urban centres again.  I just heard we are 2 towers away of getting wireless high speed.  What a great measurement of time. Those 2 towers may take 2 years.  I think I will have to get myself a laptop and head over to the nearest Starbucks.  That would make a great office space.

Hi Isabel - I am not sure which photo manager you are using but when I upload my photos from my camera's memory stick to the computer I can choose which program I do this in - adobe photo shop, hp photosmart etc. Each one seems to have an edit function (once the photos are uploaded) the edit function will offer you an option to resize your photo - mine offers to make it e-mail or blog size which is what I choose. Then you can 'save as' the small size and still keep the original size. I am a bit technology challenged but this seems to work - perhaps someone has a quicker way:)

Isabel,

if you want to resize the images you can download Microsoft's Power Toys page, and it is the easiest way to resize images with a right click.

This is for Windows XP, though...

hope this helps

Make a folder on your desktop for pictures. Save the pictures into the desktop.  This way it makes it easy to upload.  When you get to the site,  click your browser and find the file.  Upload it as a jpeg file.  You will get a better quality. if you need help you can email me.

Thank you all for your help.  Mehmet the Micorsoft Power toy  works great.  I believe that was the problem with my uploading I needed to resize the pics.  Now all I have to do is refine my blogging.

Thanks again
