Old Pasco Hardware Building in New Port Richey-Florida

The Old Pasco Hardware Building sitting on Grand Boulevard in New Port Richey-Florida is distinguished by it’s multi-sided, copper-topped cupola above the northwest corner.

Built in 1921 or 1926 (depending which history you read)  in the Spanish style with a stucco and tile exterior.

It was for many years, home to Pasco Hardware. Still in use today, it has been used continually for retail stores, restaurants, and offices. The upper story has been used as living quarters and offices.

I took this picture earlier this year; you can see the cupola is still present and makes for a very distinctive building in down-town New Port Richey-Florida. The exterior hasn't changed much in the last 90 years; it is still a great looking building.

Toni,

I really like the building, as it is distinctive and a landmark.  It probably has beautiful tile work inside also. A

Toni- I love that they are still using the building!  There are so many treasured sites that have been torn down to make way for "progress".

Toni, I think that is a cool building!  I am so glad that it has been maintained in great condition without completely redoing the building and losing the charm!

Our downtown has been getting refurbished over the last 15 years. They are trying to get everything back to the 'original' look.

Great idea Toni, to share the history of local buildings.  Looks like the train has been there all that time too.  I can see the cross sign in both photos.

Thanks, Alexandra, I like it too; it's good looking even today.

Kathy -we have quite a few of the oldies still around.

Tony - I like it too and I have a picture of some of the tile work but I haven't found it yet.

Rich - well, it's been there a long time so I guess it is.

Than - isn't it funny that years ago no-one like the "old" look and now they do.

Will - Santa is always good to me, thanks. History is one of my passions (I have many).

Donna - The train tracks have been gone a long time but the city left the semaphores to show where the track ran. It was right down the street.

Toni, I love old buildings. They've done a great job on maintaining this one.  Think I like it better today.

Howdy and morning Toni

Toni my friend, the Old Pasco Hardware Building sure is a mighty fine looking building. Sure bet if it could talk, that it sure could tell us some mighty fine story about things that had gone on.

May each and everyday bring you and your family an abundant of blessings for the rest of 2011 and all the way though the New Year of 2012!

Have a good one

Hi Toni,

That Spanish Style Stucco building held up well over the years! It looks like an historical landmark. One of my recent sold properties had Stucco and the buyer was a bit concerned. I should send him this link so that he can stop worrying!

This corner building looks GREAT!
