Want to sell your home as a Short Sale yet you're current on your mortgage?

If I had to guess I would say that you've probably been told by your neighbor or your friend or another Real Estate Agent that you can't sell your home as a Short Sale if you're current on your mortgage payments. Am I right?  I know, I hear it a lot too from people who simply do not know the facts.  I will never understand why people talk out of their hat spewing utter rubbish on a subject that they're likely totally ignorant on: they're just guessing or have no significant experience in order to make such claims.

Let's separate fact from fiction. Separate Fact from Fiction in a Short Sale

You CAN sell your home as a Short Sale in South Florida even when you ARE CURRENT on your Mortgage payment. Each individual homeowner's situation is unique and it is up to your Lender to consider you for a Short Sale if you're current. I've been specializing in Short Sales for many years now and I've had great fortune in being able to save many homeowners from a distressing home scenario while being current on their mortgage.

So the next time you hear someone say that you must be late on your mortgage to complete a Short Sale, run! They're not providing you with accurate information and the last person that you want helping you with a Short Sale is someone who is not qualified.

Great post Lynn, homeowners need to know that even if you are current on your mortgage you can short sale your home. Job relocation is a perfect example...your employer may be relocating you to a different state and you now have to sell your home that is worth less than what's owed.
