I’ve been called an “obdurate” but I’m far from it.

During my cop years you just about name it and I have either seen it or been involved in it.  After awhile death, murder, rape, robbery and all the other stuff in between becomes just an everyday part of your world.  You grow cold hearted and oblivious to other peoples pain or suffering. Nothing could be further than the truth.  Now for the meaning of (ab’door it) and if you haven’t guessed it by now it’s not easily moved to pity or sympathy.  Most cops feel the pain but it is a job regardless of the suffering, pain or death.  Sorry I’ll get off my soapbox.  Have a great day

That profession can allow for empathy and sympathy....the folks we have known usually only exhibit it outwardly...after tey retire...the emotion is there....just hidden for a time.

I would not have thought of you as being and obdurate person, James, despite the past life!  And I have never met a cop that doesn't have sympathy or feel emotion.

Good Morning James - you an obdurate - not a chance! You're a man with a heart and soul and I would refer anyone thinking about buying a house to contact you. I know if I was trying to buy a house in Arkansas, I'd feel a whole lot safer because of you.

Have a great and wonderful day!

Patricia

GOOD MORNING JAMES!  Many people think my husband, who's been with TPD for 24 years, is obdurate.  But he's not - he just has to turn it off 10 hours a day - except when i comes to children - that's always a tough one to turn the emotion off on.  As I am sure you know since you have feeling!

There are situations in real estate where you would like to think you can be an obdurate. But, does not always work! Enjoy your day!

Obdurate is just a word that people who rely on thier ability to manipulate people through rhetorical persuasion call people that they cannot persuade.

Take it as a compliment.  You're not a windsock floating in the wind, wherever the wind takes you.  In a society that is constantly bombarding you with rhetorical advertising, this is a strength.  You would've made a great purchasing agent, if you didn't go the way of law enforcement.

Regards,

Jason
