Anyone who spends any in depth time delving into the social media world will tell you that one of the ongoing, never ending debates is whether to schedule posts, or have them be all organic. I suppose a bit of background is in order here. In the social media world there are (or were, as you will learn) two camps in regard to the "correct" way to utilize the various platforms and tools available. One is the Scott Stratten (organic) approach, everything posted must be real time, and the Guy Kawasaki approach, it is okay to post good, valuable content utilizing an auto post method. Both methods are utilized and abused daily on every social media outlet available. At one point in my life I thought, wouldn't it be cool if someone would just have both gentlemen as guests and let them battle royale. However, my thoughts have changed dramatically over time.

social media experience. I believe that manners, yes manners, the same manners that are expected in a face to face encounter are the same standards that apply in a digital encounter. So as long as those boundaries are adhered to, there should be no problem. There are some ground ruleshere, if I am being inundated with spam, garbage, sell you something content consistently, I am going to blockor avoid that person. Additionally, if someone is posting organically and posting what I consider off color, or inappropriate content, I will block or avoid them. The key word is what I, consider to be inappropriate use of the platform or content. Much likeTV if I don't like the show, I can change the channel. I am an adult and control what I choose to read, much like Victor Frankel says in "Man's Search for Meaning", they cannot control my thoughts. I believe that there is so much content on the Internet, shared in so many ways, that life is too short to worry about the manner in which one person or another chooses to share.
I don't have a problem with either manner of sharing ones voice or information. I can honestly say that I have personally learned boat loads from both Mr. Kawasaki and Mr. Statten. I respect both men immensely, and don't feel either has a lock on any one way to do things. For me, I have seen and have experienced value in both approaches, and I think there are a large number of people in the social media world that feel the same. It is almost a third group, totally independent of the burden of having to choose one way or the other, a group that will interact in the social media world on there own terms, in their own manner. Maybe we could start a new Twitter chat, the KawaStrattenchat. every bodies invited, the only rules are respect for each others opinions. Nah, never work....;-) Just involve yourself, on your own terms, Disregard the content police, the correctness police, the spell checkpolice, and anybody else who feels they have to right to tell you what your world is about.
