Lend me your "too cool" garage... ok, at least tell me about it.

The sty... I was going to call this post "A funny thing happened on my way to the Search Engine Results..." and then start it with... I got hijacked. It was one of them long-tailed searches. They sure are sneaky. But, I got hijacked with a different idea, sooo...

I got hijacked. It was one of them long-tailed searches. They sure are sneaky.

This one was called "cool garage toys". Now, if you take a look at my tags, you'll see that I have around 30 posts that mention garages. I have over 100 that involve real estate. One might think that I would get some search engine lovin' for real estate... but, nope. It's all about garages.

Seriously, my top six search terms are all garages. Now, I will say that there is one post I have here that has surpassed all others in contacts... my phone rings twice a week over it, and it is real estate related, but nobody that calls has the $20M to actually do it, and they just want me to tell all of my secrets... but, for the most part, I think that most of my Googling readers are hitting me looking for the grooviest and coolest garage stuff.

The sty...Being a tech savvy guy (think Steve Martin's "wild and craaazy guys" line), as well as a garage geek and swift thinking marketer, I have a solution. I want to see YOUR garage. That's right... YOUR garage.

So, being the swifty that I am, after a mere 4 1/2 months, I have figure out that I need to showcase some cool garages. Now, of course this blog isn't the best platform for it, but I do have a real estate and garage website (duh!) that would be perfect.

No charge. No geographical restrictions. No pressure. I'd just like to see some cool garages. I might even be able to put you on the front lines of a cool reward I'm looking to announce in a week or two as well.

The only thing I ask is that they look better than the sad sack I have pictures of here. This is a truly terrible garage. It is clogged with crap, and needs a much better system for storage. I just haven't had the time of money to finish the projects that is clogging it up... Talk to my wife. As soon as she let's me, I will clean it up and turn it into the 26'x24' one car garage it always wanted to be... with attached tool room.

So, comment and send me an email. I'll gladly feature YOUR garage on my website. For the whole world to see. Maybe my wife will stop buying purses long enough for me to do something with my own garage.

Oh yeah... If you need a bigger garage, let me know. I'm in Gwinnett County, GA and also work South Hall and South Forsyth. Furthermore, I have agents all over the country that would love to get a "car people" referral.

Hello Lane, if you have read some-of my posts you might have picked up on my last 30 years in construction and auto repair, and a truck shop and 2 body shops. I owned and operated fairly large scale repair shops for over 14 years and hold ASE certifications. Mainly AC certified, because I couldn't be bothered to take the other tests. I had some of the best mechanics over the years, and with my body shop affiliation,(which I later bought ) we really made some cool stuff. I bought cars at auction and fixed them up until the local law made me get a dealers license. So, its with a sad heart that I just cleared out my last building that was full of equipment and tools that I couldn't part with 2 years ago. I have the building rented starting the 15th, and could not put it off any more. Basically if Snap on Had it , so did I . Plasma cutters, tig welders, wireless scanners, Modis, huge Snap On Roll boxes ..I now have my small (for me) XL box from 12 years ago and one roll cart left. One floor jack, one small compressor and some basic air tools. Over the years I put too much into tools and not enough into Home life. So, the shops are all sold, and I now have fun in Real Estate.  I had someone do a tune up on my car (98 STS Caddy) and it felt good. I did worry that maybe something was missed, but so far, so good . Oh yeah, he did work for me for over 7 years, I'm not that trusting yet...See ya Later Lane

Mike - I have a terrible time letting people work on my junk... but I don't change my own oil.  If I needed the plasma cutter and MiG, I might...

I actually spent my college years (attempt #1) at a restoration shop.  Then, I was part owner of a 4wd Shop.  But, I was never the mechanical muscle.  I was the guy that could find stuff... back before Goggle made everyone the guy that could find stuff.

Trust me, its a lot more fun as a hobby than as a career....I learned a lot about people during this time, and I met a ton of people as well. It has made me more well known in this community because of my 14 years being in the public eye. So its not all bad. It does make you want to cry when all you can get for the 8,000 Modis (including cart and updates) is $ 2700.00....Two Nice lifts for 1800 APIECE. Snap On Box with too much in it to tlak about for 6000.   Thats about .25 cents on the dollar....Oh well C-ya

Mike - I enjoyed my time in the resto shop, but it was like a hobby.  Also, spending ten years in commercial photography, I understand what you mean.  Oddly, I know a guy down here that was a professional mechanic.  His wife went to work as an agent for a little extra income... he works for her now.  His garage is REALLY cool, too.  It looks like a Snap-On truck puked into it.

Lane, my garage would not be welcome on your site unless you like pictures of rakes and stuff.   But my neighbor, WOW.  His is coolio. And no, I can't take pictures, he doesn't like graven images.

Jeff - I understand.  Send him to the site.  Maybe he'll want a feature... I won't tell the address.

And that reminds me...  I'm working on the 10 Commandments of Garagdom.

Lane - It is time for you to get busy on a fun project.  I have a C4 Corvette in the works and I am reconstructing a Z-28 to be similar to my high school Camaro (but with about 400 more horsepower)

I tell people that they'd love to have a garage....especially single people.....because no one can tell whether they are home or not.  You drive home, put your car in the garage, and bingo! no one knows whether you are there.  If the doorbell rings, don't answer unless you want to.  They won't know if you are at home!  I'm so sad for you that you can't hide because you can't get a vehicle in your garage!!  : )

Sam - I am working (occasionally) on a fun project.  I'm building a 1971 Kaiser Jeepster/Commando with a 92 YJ front clip, fuel injected 4.0HO, nv4500 medium duty 5 speed, and Dana 60 axles.  I'm building the frame in the garage.  It will have a custom 4 link, coil spring suspension front and rear.

Barbara - I often have enough vehicles that people can't tell if I am here or not... my neighbors love me.
