When you feel like you've given it your all don't give up... Something good is bound to happen soon.

To be quite honest I've had a frustrating couple of months. My sellers are getting antsy, my buyers are having a hard time getting financed, and I have had two deals in contract for over a month. I've been sitting on pins and needles waiting for them to close. I keep on thinking to myself, "Could I please get a couple routine transactions in the midst of all of these difficult transactions? I just don't know how much more I can take!"  I had almost given up on 2007. This sounds pathetic and whiney I know, please keep reading it gets better...

However, I kept on doing what I do...

•1)     Send out my monthly mailers

•2)     Contact buyers and sellers on a regular basis

•3)     Keep contact with lenders to know the best programs out there

•4)     Work with all my buyers the same no matter how difficult I think the transaction is going to be.

Well, something great happened yesterday. Yes, my persistence paid off.

A past client of my team, I work on all transactions with my father, contacted us because we are so consistent and have proven to be the EXPERTS in our area.

Our buyer needs to spend millions of dollars in the next couple of months, and guess who gets to be the agents to write all the transactions. You guessed it; my father and me.

The message to all agents feeling somewhat how I was feeling. Please keep doing what you are doing. Your clients know that you too are the EXPERTS in your area. Don't forget to stay in contact and remind them of this though. Your next great transaction is just around the corner!

This is so true, you have to keep plugging along. It seems like every time someone cancels or something goes wrong lately, there is always something great that happens the next day. You have to have faith in this market.

This is great news. Nothing is worse than agreeing with the crowd with things like 'it is the slow time of year'!

Laura, sometimes we get impatient, especially when we are waiting for money we need.  I'm working on tempering my impatience, and learning it will all fall into place when the time is right.  I keep marketing and making contacts, knowing that one day, one of them will call and need my services.  Its not easy to do, but I think it comes with the territory, especially in this dead real estate market.

Laura.. great post and so timely!  We can't give up.  It doesn't matter who you are in Real Estate.  We are all affected and a positive attitude is what keeps you going. I guess it depends on how you view the market... half empty or half full :)
