Have you ever been late for a train and simply forgot to wear your pants? Well, that’s one of the angles behind the “No Pants Subway Rides” all over the world. Yes, really.
The local jokers at Improv AZ have confirmed participation in this national day of pantslessness with the Improv Everywhere No Pants Subway riders.
Yes, the fourth annual No Pants AZ Light Rail Ride will be happening on January 8th 2012.
Per Improv AZ:
“REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATION:
1) Willing to take pants off on light rail.
2) Able to keep a straight face about it.
** THIS IS A PARTICIPATORY EVENT. DO NOT SHOW UP UNLESS YOU PLAN TO TAKE YOUR PANTS OFF. THIS INCLUDES THE MEDIA! **”
At first, a No Pants Light Rail Ride might sound a bit odd, or even obscene, but don’t let that stop you from meeting up with a bunch of strangers and dropping your trousers on the light rail. It’s all in fun. Really.
If you are attending the 2012 No Pants AZ Light Rail Ride, you should just “act normal.”
When: Sunday, January 8th
Bring: A backpack and purchase a light rail pass
Wear: underwear
See the 2012 No Pants AZ Facebook invite to join the conversation
Starting Points:
WEST SIDE START: Montebello/19th Ave
EAST SIDE START: Sycamore/Main
END AT: Mill Ave/3rd Street (then head South to Robbie Fox’s)
Be on time! Be at the West Side or East Side starting point station and ready to board the train at 1:00pm sharp. It is the same time for both stops. Be early if you need to, especially if you need to buy a light rail pass.
If you are not a regular light rail rider, you should be aware of a few things:
Purchase a light rail pass for just $3.50. Also, the park and ride lots are FREE of charge. Each end of the line stations that are starting points for the 2012 No Pants Light Rail Ride have large park and ride lots. See the light rail map below for station locations:

Believe it or not, this national day of pantless hilarity happens all over the world.
The “official No Pants AZ site,” has the scoop and the guys at Rail Life are talking No Pants day, as well.
