I guess you just get used to seeing all the beautiful BRICK HOMES in Fort Worth...but this looks like the making of a CASTLE to me!!  We have mostly block and stucco homes so the brick is a TREAT!

Hi Susie:  Yes, almost all of the homes are brick in DFW.  It was quite a thing to get used to when I moved here from Cleveland years ago.  Up there, everything was good ol' fashioned siding.  The Connecticut colonial look.  Cape Cods, Salt Box colonials, all with siding.  On some of the original maps of the Cleveland area, all of northeastern Ohio was referred to as "New Connecticut."  Thanks so much for visiting.

How much?  $202,000???  Wow, I am amazed.  I can't get a two bedroom (old) condo here for that!   No wonder Texans have sticker shock when they come here.

Hi Joanne:  It just is so totally astonishing that your market is like that.  How in the world can a couple just starting out buy a home.  One wonderful thing about our Fort Worth market is that the home appreciation here is a nice, gradual 3 percent of so a year... some areas more... but nothing crazy like those markets that are now experiencing a bursting of their real estat bubble.  Our market is laid back... just like Fort Worthians are.  Thanks for taking the time to comment...
