2 Simple Organizing Solutions That Just Keep on Giving!

By
Home Stager with www.HomeStagingCoaches.com

I am a homestager and room makeover expert in St Paul Minnesota. My work involves coaching clients on how to clear out their closets, cabinets and storage areas. I am not an organizing professional by trade, but I do appreciate how an organized house appeals to people's hopes and dreams. Staging's goal is to help a property appeal to a buyers hopes and dreams, so it is important for me to help my clients understand how they can present an organized living space.

I am on a mission this week to enter the New Year with an organized home. You may have seen my posts the other day on 7 steps to an organized closet.  I have some good systems in place at my home already...and I am going to keep adding good systems to my world until this darn house virtually takes care of itself!

Sometimes it is the simple things in life that bring the greatest joy.  Everyday I get pleasure from two organizing solutions that I put into place years ago. These two solutions just keep on giving:

  1. Storing my earrings in ice cube trays that fit neatly into the top drawer of my dresser. One pair in each ice cube mold.  Not rocket science, but life enhancing.
  2. A small covered box next to the phone in my kitchen. This box has my scissors, a small stapler, pens, clips, and post-it notes.  Everyone in the house knows that if they take something out of the box it needs to go back there…or else!

Why do these small systems provide joy? They make my life easier. These two systems are consistently maintained and help to make my world calm.

I am not an organized person by nature.  I have to work at it. I know some people love to clean, but I don't, So if you have any good organizing tips to share with me my ears and eyes are wide open.  Together we can bring harmony to our worlds.

I wish you a New Year filled with peace and joy...and if you need to get your home  organized  to get there, follow my posts. If you live in the Twin Cities metro, give me a call for schedule a one-to-one meeting.  I will share my secrets, large and small, to help you create the home of your dreams.

Christi, I love your tip to use an ice cube tray for earrings. Like you I hate to clean but I always repeat to myself a saying that ' clean place is not where people clean, but where noone litters'. As for the tip, I bought a box of safety pins for the socks to make pairs before throwing them into the hamper, so I don't need to match them after washing.

That is a great idea Anna...I can fold all the shirts, pants and towels in less time than it takes me to match up the socks.  I am going to try that out.  Thanks for the idea.
