Is Spring Right Around the Corner?  The Flowers Think So!

Flowers

Yes, the date is December 30th and spring Flowers are poking their heads through the ground in Erie, PA.

Normally snow covers the ground at this time of year along the shores of Lake Erie and the wind howls as we dream of spring Flowers.

Forget ski season, let the flowers grow.

That's happening here, too! What a strange, strange winter. Getting a little worried about the snow pack on Mt. Hood and the impending drought. Happy 2012!

Next you will have to be digging them up and placing them in the refrigerator, for them to flower like we do here!

Hi Mary, we've had flowers blooming around here as well.  Shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops have been very popular wardrobe choices for much of November and December around the Chicago area.  Expected to be in the 50's for NYE -- happy about that.  :)

I still have  a patch of snapdragons with flowers on them that hanging on.  You know since we had the earthquare and hurricane anything is possible.    Wishing you all the best for the New Year.

David--I am sure that Virginia is warmer than NW Pennsylvania.  Enjoy!

Jerry--Me, too.  As walked around my house I inspected the flower garden and was delighted to see the flowers poking their heads up.  However, the snow is coming soon per Mr. Weatherman.

Gretchen & Mel--For the skiers in Mt. Hood area I hope the snows come soon.  Our ski resorts have man-made snow but it's not the same.  Yes, the drought is serious in many areas.  I hope the Weatherman sends snow or rain to the right areas soon.

Jane--Thanks for the idea.  I have never dug up my own flowers, but I have purchased them & put in refrig.

Karen--Yes, I have seen a few flip flops recently, but I can tell you mine are in the back of the closet.

Ted--I didn't look at the trees, but I am sure that the maple syrup is flowing.

Michele--Enjoy each and every one of those snapdragons.  That is good luck after a hurricane and earthquake.

Andrea--Let's cross fingers and maybe Mother Nature will listen to us.  Good to see you again.

Patrick--I didn't think to look at my trees.  Yes, our weather is supposed to take a downward slide later today.

Patricia--I am with you 2012 will be a good year even if we have a bit of snow in the forecast.

Mary: Why wouldn't the flowers be confused. Most of us can't figure out how to dress for the weather. Warmer is good. Looking forward to getting to know you in the Rain in 2012. Happy New Year and Continued Success!

Toni--Brr! The cold breeze will hit us before it gets to your area.  Happy New Year and may our paths cross soon.

Anne--I pull out the winter coat and put it away.  Haven't worn the boats yet, but I am not complaining. Hope to see you in 2012.
