How to Recycle or Dispose of your Christmas Tree in Ventura, CA 2011

Christmas TreeIf your waste hauler is E.J. Harrison & Sons and you reside in the City of Ventura, it is easy for you to recycle your Christmas tree.

All you need to do is remove the ornaments, hooks, lights, tinsel, bows, nails and tree stand. Cut the tree into four-foot sections and place in your yard waste barrel on your scheduled pickup day. No ‘flocked’ trees allowed.

The recycled trees collected will be will processed into various sizes of mulch. The material is used by Agromin to make several products that benefit our Ventura County farmlands, orchards, nurseries and our own gardens.

This definitely a win~win situation. Please Recycle your Christmas Tree!

Sandy--Yes, dump trees into the lake.  They do that in Lake Erie and along the Gulf Coast, too. Also, helps to prevent erosion.

I have had an artificial tree for years, but had a real tree while growing up.  Love the smell of real tree.

BTW  Good market reports.

Hi Mary, I would think that it would damage the eco system. Thanks on the market report. I've been experimenting with different formats and it is hard to decide on one.

Good luck with market reports--choose the format that easy to do and stick with it until you find something you like better.  Mary
