Wishing Everybody A Happy New Year 2012 ... from Ocean City, New Jersey
We are closing out the old year on another two-day high in the 60s. I played three sets of doubles tennis yesterday afternoon ... after about a 3-month layoff. Didn't do too bad either. And it is just as warm today.
I had quite an ending to yesterday ... I cut my finger with a knife while taking down a rental sign on a porch ... it turned out to be quite a bleeder ... and I couldn't get it stopped. So I stopped back at our house to tell my wife that I was on my way to the doctor's office. But I found her with a back spasm that had started the night before. So she decided to go along with me since she could not drive and was in terrible pain. We made it to the doctor's office.
Recovery involved some extra efforts by our doctor including a booster shot, a trip to the pharmacy for some special medicines, a stop at a favorite location for some burgers to cover us for a meal that neither of us planned to make, and an early night of sleep.
We were both better by the morning. And we are in good enough shape to continue to venture out for our annual New Year's Eve excursion ... an early dinner at a mainland restaurant and a movie returning with another couple by 9:30 PM. No late night plans for us.
But we do plan to also attend an afternoon New Year's Day Party at a close friend's bayfront house in Ocean City (NJ) - an annual tradition. So it looks like a decent closing for 2011 ... and the looking forward to a wonderful 2012. We also wish all of you the best in the new year 2012 as well.
Watch out for knives when disconnecting a rental sign, be careful of any heavy lifting or long drives without breaks to avoid back spasms. And have lots of friends who can help you pick up the slack when one runs into trouble just before the New Year!!! dap
