I am buying right now! Why aren't you?

THE SPIN IN YOUR MARKET SHOULD BE AS UPBEAT AS THIS PICTURE!!  You should be writing tales of positivity.  You should be bouncing off the walls like tigger!! Are people coming up to you asking you why you are so happy?  THEY SHOULD BE.

Make em wonder - why is this person in real estate in such a horrible market happy?  BECAUSE IT"S NOT HORRIBLE SILLY!!!

Are you buying homes for real?  Yes I am, and right now is the perfect time to get moving.....remember the article that Tracy Thomas from Calabasas did? Pin The Tail On The Bottom Of The Market - pay attention to it....because she wrote that some time ago.

Things have changed.....statistics are changing slightly......some people are getting it.  Those that are getting it are buying, they know the bottom is within sight.  If you wait too long you might be regretting that you didn't get in earlier.

Start bouncing off walls, it's always nice to have to explain why you are so happy!!

Good post.  I agree this is the best time to buy, and we should be focusing on the good aspects not the negative aspects of this market.

That is the goal, but the funny thing is, there is very little negative with this market, unless you believe the national media - we can all find facts that will support what we want the story to be about.

Hi Ryan,  Thanks for mentioning my article.  The market here is great if you're a buyer!  If you're a seller and have an aggressive marketing plan and your home priced correctly, it's also good.  I am very positive about this market.

So, if our market truly sucks, are you advocating lying to people? For investors, this is a great time, in many markets, but what about the rest of the people who just want a home of their own? What about sellers who need to sell? If the market is not very good, then tell it like it is. Don't worry about what the national media says, or how great the government says the economy is getting; if it's not good in your area, you would be doing a lot of people a disservice to say anything different. Just my opinion...

Tracey - that is fantastic, thanks for the article, your article has helped me immensely in understanding where we are locally.

Amber - To be perfectly honest with you, I think you missed the boat.  If you believe your market sucks, then why are you doing what you do?  I would never advocate lying to someone about the true statistics of your market, but have you checked your updated stats before telling these people their market sucks? If your market happens to be rougher than most I am advocating you use a response such as

"I agree that currently we are in a tough time, BUT I am connected with many brokers nationwide and they are seeing some dramatic changes in both new housing sales as well as median prices."

I am also asking people to look for the positive part of their market and focus on it.....even in a rough market it might be a good time to buy (maybe not everyone but for someone) find them and create a positive story and then blog about it.  Every market is local and I am telling you that if you are this negative on a blog your clients also are able to see it, sense it and likely to stay away.  Positive energy never hurt anybody.

I agree!  It's the perfect time to buy.  It's our job to educate the buyers out there of this.
