Make Your Reports Excel With Excel 2007

There are so many posts here on Active Rain that provide useful information.  This one really does for those of us that would like to create better and more varied market reports.  For anyone else thinking of doing the same thing do yourself a favor and save John Novak's post.

One of my goals this year is to increase the number of market reports I do.  Now I will be able to do that in a much more interesting way.  I really appreciate that as I think it will be more helpful to the readership (hoping there is one) of my outside blog and will make creating reports more fun for me.  I like learning and trying new things and I certainly have not utilized Excel 2007 to do this.

Please comment on John's post.  I have SUGGESTED it as I think it is certainly worthy of being featured and would reach many more members.  You might want to also.  I have disabled my comments for that reason.

Make Your Reports Excel With Excel 2007

Want to add a little punch of color to your real estate market reports? Looking for a way to visually convey price and sales trends? Would you like to show your readers how the makeup of your market has shifted over time?

It's not rocket science. No special spreadsheet powers are required. There's absolutely nothing to fear.
All you need is Excel 2007.

Take a look at the price and sales data below. Using Excel 2007, you can quickly create charts using the built-in styles, or you can customize your chart with just a few clicks to give it your own unique look.

See how easy it is to make charts with Excel by taking this free online course from Microsoft and watching this demo. There are also several good books about Excel. Three that I recommend are Excel 2007 On DemandExcel 2007 Visual QuickStart Guide, and Excel 2007: Top 100 Simplified Tips and Tricks.

Still have questions about charts or anything else in Excel 2007? Just leave them in the comments, and if I don't know the answer we'll both learn something along the way!
