So today is New Years Day, Time to begin another year as a Real Estate Agent, Looking for people who want to buy, sell, rent or exchange Real Estate. Been in this business since 1988 and still loving it. The last couple of years have been challenging, as most folks here know, don't know what the coming year will have to offer, but I am still looking forward to meeting the challenge.

One of the things I can say is I am still standing, so many of my colleagues have lost everything, home, savings, retirement, customer base, past clients, foreclosure, bankrupt.

So if you are not one of those who have given up, I congratulate you. Sets you goals for the new year, make a plan and follow that plan and be as successful as you can, and then remember to share your good fortune with others.

Have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!!!

Ted, we do start a new year, and you have a few years on me, but still have quite a few and STILL surviving as a full time agent!    Budget, live within your means, and operate your business AS a business.    Wishing you a wonderful 2012!

And as a fellow "old timer" I commend you Ted, for blogging and mixing things up! I've watched many colleagues fall by the wayside because they weren't willing to change with the times.

Joan, Those who are willing to change and actually do will continue to stand and will be standing when all of this stuff turns around, one day.

Colleen, some one told me a long time ago "If you continue doing what you have always done, you will continue to get the result you always have". If I was a harness maker  110 years ago and did not change my business, I would be long gone. By continuing to study, adapt, change and look at what is the next thing on the horizon, I will still be standing when I retire (after I have 3 numbers in the ago column). Goal is to see the century turn AGAIN, (2100) set that at 55, when it was still 19xx and the century had not turned, for me, the first time.
