One of My Resolutions for 2012
DeCluttering is something that needs to be ongoing so that new can come into your space continually. Remember Nature hates a void and you can create new things by simply getting a void by eliminating the old things and putting them to good use. Good post by Suzanne below
Have you ever taken an inventory of your home for insurance purposes?
If you have, you know what it takes.....days and days and days.
After Christmas, I always have the urge to purge.
So, as I did two years ago, this year will be another year of getting rid of one thing a day.
I can't stand clutter, and living with someone who collects...and collects for me...is nearly intolerable for my psyche.
So, every so often I purge. And, I try to keep meaningful things. But, I learned an invaluable lesson some years ago. And, that is sometimes you need to "pass things along". And, a great way to do that is by taking a photo of the item, and keeping that instead of the item itself
Photos take up very little space, especially digital ones that you can keep on a stick....or on the web.
So, if you are feeling a bit overwhelmed as I am. I suggest that for every item you bring into your home this year (except food, etc.), you let something go to a charity or recycle it .
Remember, reuse, recycle and repurpose. I guarantee that your life will be much improved as mine as this past year. Less to clean and care for gives you more time for fun AND work.
Try it for a month....let me know how it goes.
