One of your New Year's resolutions (again) is to jump in with both feet, swinging arms to launch your real estate video marketing.

video mooers realty To promote the local area, the individual properties in it. Not just your two most expensive real estate listings get the video treatment.

And not just endless on camera talks on whatever comes to mind, unscripted and hurried so you can say hey, I do video.

Video done right means learning how to edit.

Not editing video means its like learning to fly with out wings.

Real estate video editing is critical for a number of reasons.

One, it definitely speeds up the viewing, listening experience for the buyer if done right. Eliminating the walking up a flight of stairs from a continuous video makes it shorter, more interesting, helpful. Two, editing can help do away with some or all of the herd of elephant earthquake happening like effect.  Editing your real estate video software options.

Every real estate video you start out to create needs a story board.

Written at first to "see", visualize it. Later mentally walked through as your skills, confidence, style increase. Some kind of story line to imagine what the final local community piece or real estate property listing video is going to look like and what the purpose is. What the features of a property are that need to make the final cut, to not be edited out are crucial too.

Your biggest critics don't do video but have a director's chair they whip out to critique yours.

The Cecil B. Demille beret slanted, carrying a crop, wearing English horse riding tight pants, leather boots type. Getting a bit snarky, blue blood aloof. Lip curled and saying "tsk tsk, oh, no no, I don't like your (pause, scowl) video". Get started, your early videos will be a little see Dick, where's Jane and Puff.

Less wobbly with editing that you don't have to be a master at, but will improve with over time like a bike that eventually Dad unbolts the training wheels.

Giving a big thumbs up. Letting you head out of the back yard. Handing you a dollar for some candy if you look both ways crossing the street before the corner store. The one three blocks away. Making you feel all grown up, special, responsible.

Lose the fear of making real estate videos. You can do it.

Andrew,

this is such a great topic and can be frightening, or even make me delay working on it because the idea of putting everything together so it looks great (story board) is somewhat overwhelming.  I intend on watching what you've layed out here and hope that it helps.  Thank You and Best Wishes for a Prosperous 2012!

Todd ... Cartoon simple, just a stick figure type easy series of "television" tube peeks. At each new video loop you are going to collect, edit, render, upload to your video channels. Embed in your blog posts like this one shows, to link in your website listings. Real estate buyers want, need real full motion with sound, not script narrative. The same walk through tour you do over and over and should be pretty skilled at by now. Video it and clone yourself, the process so any one any time can open house your home town, your listings. On their schedule. Thanks Todd!
