Growing up in a family where there was never any doubt that my parents loved me and my three sisters certainly provided the foundation for my trust in others. We were part of an extended family that provided a sense of security. This contributes to a willingness to trust others. There have been times that I have been disappointed but for every time I have faced disappointment there have been multiple times when my trust has been rewarded. I like those odds and so my trust continues.
My life has been spent in many places with many different people. I have lived in projects, in a small house with my parents and three sisters, in an embassy compound, and on an estate with a caretaker and his wife. My moves have taken me to Puerto Rico, Alaska, Italy, and Somalia as well as several places in the lower 48. It helps to be open and trusting to go from place to place to make a new home and life for yourself and your family.
I don't believe I would have had the experiences that I have had if I did not believe that I would find a home and be able to make friends each and every place I went. If I did not have trust I would not have been able to look forward to the birth of my three children. Knowing that there was a wonderful world out there made it easier for me to raise them with the expectation that life required work and effort but that the possibilities were theirs to determine.
I'm 74 years old and have been a REALTOR® since I was 49. Believe me, without trust in others I could never have stayed in this business for this long. There have been times that I have been disappointed in the actions of others. For every time that has happened there have been many many more times when my expectations have been met and sometimes exceeded. I hope others will trust me, clients and business associates alike. How can I expect that if I cannot offer it in return?
I'm happy with my life and happy in my life. Trust makes this possible.
