Let's Discuss The F Word- FICO

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Tina White Realtor

FICO- its probably the most feared word in the Dictionary-most people are so fearful of their FICO score they never take the time to check their credit report, its almost like they believe if they don't see it then it doesn't exist. However, FICO does exist and it very important to know your status.

As we all know the higher your score the better however, its also one of the quality over quantity deals as well so to better understand your score its a good idea to get a copy of your most recent credit report from each of the three major credit reporting agencies- TransUnion, Equifax and Experian.

Google is a major help in finding information and a huge resource so I would suggest googling all you want to know about credit and credit scores.

One recurring theme about the credit scoring system is based on five factors:

  1. Payment History
  2. Debt Amounts
  3. Length of Credit History
  4. New Credit
  5. Credit Mix

Here's to a clean bill of credit health for the new year- I for one will follow my own advice and we can go at this together. Please feel free to check back with me in a few weeks if you would like to discuss the topic.
