You're going through a divorce, you just got notice you're being transferred, you got your first job and are ready to buy your first home. These are all examples of life happening and at a time when you have a million other things on your mind, buying or selling a home and all the details that come with that is something you would just like to hand off. And just like in the relay race...when you hand off, the other person better be there to take over.
But how in the world can you do that; buying or selling a homes is one of the most major decisions you will make in your lifetime.
Who will navigate that process for you? Who can be sure your best interests are protected? Who can give you resources like lenders or a handyman to ensure a smooth transaction? In essence, who can you trust?
Trust is often earned but many times it is just placed in the hopes of not being let down. It is placed with a REALTOR that has demonstrated a knowledge of your market, understands your motivation and knows how to navigate the waters of Real Estate for you. It is placed with a REALTOR that listens to you. I often tell my buyers, "I want to sell you 'I gotta have that house' not 'this one would work' and I will wait for you to find that one". It is placed with a REALTOR that will be honest with you; I often ask my sellers, "How honest do you want me to be?" so that they know what comes out of my mouth next is the truth. It is placed with a REALTOR that gauges their success not by how many dollars they sell but by how many times they are referred by a client because that client trusted them.
When you place your trust in me, I hope to hear I exceeded your expectations. There will be times during the process where I will say, "you need to trust me". And when you do, you will find that I am always on your side, protecting you, working for you, getting you from discussions to closing. I won't convince you to buy a house you don't like, I won't sell your house just to get the deal done. I will work for you and at the end of the day, you will have started out placing your trust in me, but in the end I will have earned your trust....just as it is supposed to be.
