Grand Opening of King Soopers in Aurora, CO

The King Soopers store at the northwest corner of Tower and Hampden in Aurora, CO celebrates its Grand Opening today. It's technically a Grand Re-Opening since the store already existed--I shopped there for 3 years before we moved closer to the Smoky Hill location. The store has just undergone a 4-month renovation, and now I'm jealous!

It is like a garden. Only everything is picked for you
and there are no earwigs.

There was a quite festive atmosphere when I visited earlier today. I noticed a few associates and assistant managers wearing boutonnieres and corsages. Several stations throughout the store were handing out free samples, and many employees are on loan from other locations to handle the extra crowds of customers for this Grand Opening week.

The produce and bakery section, which is on the far right-hand side of the store, has a new open layout, and the deli now offers fresh sushi.

This King Soopers is offering some tempting sales not available at other locations to entice shoppers, such as a 5-pound box of Cuties Clementines for $3.88, and a gallon of milk for $1.49.

When I asked store manager Dave Yoho what is the very best thing about his new, improved store, he said, "The people. We have fun here."

Earth-tone paint on the walls and attractive new signage over every aisle add to the fresh feel. In the ladies' room, I overhead a woman walk in and say "Wow! This is nice!"

Our congratulations to Dave Yoho and his team on their great new store. We recommend stopping in and seeing the King Soopers Grand Opening in southeast Aurora for yourself!
