Preparing Your Home To Sell In The Springfield Missouri Real Estate Market

By

Preparing a home in today's market has become very critical.  In a good market it was always important, A New coat of painthowever, now it's a must.  Even if you are not planning on selling, a yearly checkup on your home will prevent major problems and renovation later.

Realtors are great at giving advice, so I started looking at my own home this year.  It is now 10 years old, with some vinyl flooring, formica countertops, the exterior lights have corroded, door knobs looking a little shabby.  Knowing we needed to update our carpet, we purchased hardwood flooring back in March and stored it in a spare bedroom until we were able to install it ourselves.

Throughout the year, we've slowing replaced some of the exterior items.  This week, we spent our evenings tearing out carpeting and installing hardwood floors.  WHAT A DIFFERENCE!  A lot of hard work and sore knees can really make a difference.  I so appreciate the work that other homeowners do to prepare their home for sale.

I don't plan to sell my home right now, but when I do, it will be ready.  We're doing all we can to make sure our Ozark real estate investment pays off.

If you need advice on what home improvements are necessary to market your real estate in Springfield Missouri, visit my website and I'll set up a time to visit with you.

Kim...it's really tough when a house is covered with wall paper.  I have clients now that have wall paper in every room except one that has paneling.  Even the woodwork is painted in colors to match the paper.  This is going to be one big job but vital and worth it.
