Jamie and Lilian Caulk Memorial Project- Please Support AR Member Missy Caulk

Sally Cheeseman is the reason I joined ActiveRain in June 2007. Cyndee Haydon and Missy Caulk are the reasons I stayed with ActiveRain and started to learn how to blog. I spend hours on the phone with Cyndee and Missy learning the AR ropes, nooks and crannies of getting around the rain. We had connected right away because we are all homeschoolers. Cyndee and Missy introduced me to other Rainers who were also homeschoolers like Todd Clark, Jason Crouch and others who are not blogging on AR anymore. missy caulk realtor ann arbor

Missy and I were like long lost friends. She is one of my very best friends on and off of ActiveRain. We trust each other and can call on each other to talk about anything. In fact, I was sworn to secrecy about Christa dating Bob Stewart because we did not want rumors to start. Missy wanted Bob and Christa to be the ones that told the world they were in love.  Missy and I share the same maiden name and we are positive we are related through our lineage somewhere, somehow.

Missy Caulk is the strongest mother and woman I know. She has been through so much and yet her faith in God just gets stronger and clearer. She knows God has a plan and she trusts him in his plan even though that is not clear in times of grief.

Most people on AR know this but just in case you did not: Missy lost one of her sons, Jamie Caulk who was 27 years old in a car crash in October. It was a struggling and prayerful time as Jamie fought for life on life support. No parent should ever have to watch their own child die. We are supposed to be the ones that die first. But through that loss came an amazing strength that Missy and Christa and the rest of the Caulk family not only exhibited but more than that, they became a light for Christ in their time of sorrow and grief. Everything happens for a reason and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the testimony and the faith that the Caulk family lights the world with has brought others closer to God and Christ. It has also comforted other parents who were struggling with finding the forgiveness and accepting what the Lord's plan is for their own children.

Then the unthinkable happened just a short time after Jamie left this life for the next, Missy's granddaughter who was only 11 weeks old, Lilian Caulk joined her brother on the other side. She died suddenly. The smile that melted the pain from Christa's and Missy's hearts was whisked away and another void was ushered in. How do you take losing two of your family, close family in a span of such a short time without being resentful or angered. That is not Missy. That is not Christa. That is not the Caulk family.

Once again the Caulk family became the source of strength for others in their time of loss. They reached out to those in pain of losses of their own. They lifted up those souls and let go to let God handle the details.

caulk memorial fundWe all wanted to do something special for Missy Caulk and Bob and Christa Stewart as well as the rest of the Caulk family. We wanted to do something memorable that would allow the flame of the Caulk family faith live on. So Carol Grubb came up with her idea and has put together a memorial fund. We are raising money to dedicate a park bench in the name of Jamie and Lilian Caulk.

It is going to cost about $3000 to do this project and we have raised about $700 of it so far. Please see if it is in your heart to donate to the Caulk Memorial Park Bench fund.

Please send your check for any amount to:

The Jamie and Lilian Caulk Memorial Fund

Mail your check to:

Carol Grubb, 3647 W Greenook Drive, Ann Arbor, MI 48103

or you can send a donation through paypal to cyndeehaydon( at sign) gmail.com- please add the fund name in the memo line.

Carol would also like to have your mailing address and names so you can receive the invitation to the park bench presentation scheduled for May of 2012 sometime.
