58th Annual Yardley Antique Show - January 13 and 14, 2012  The Yardley Community Centre will open its doors for the 58th Annual Antique Show next Friday, January 13 and Saturday January 14,

Attendees, organizers and antique experts agree that the show's success is due to the quality of the antiques displayed and the high caliber of antique dealers who return year after year. Another key factor is the faithful collectors who come from around Pennsylvania and surrounding states to attend and shop the show.

In keeping with its location, the Yardley Antique Show has emphasized "good" country antiques. According to the official show website, featured items this year include Bucks County primitives, country and traditional furniture, quilts and other textiles, folk arts, maps and prints, china, pottery, glassware, jewelry, dolls and books.

Twenty one dealers from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Virginia will set up their wares and be ready for serious collectors and casual shoppers alike.

The Yardley Antique Show is the major fundraiser for the ongoing preservation and upkeep of the historic Yardley Community Centre, which hosts the show. The Community Centre is located at 64 South Main Street in the heart of Yardley Borough. Show hours on Friday are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Community Centre's kitchen will have food available for sale.  Admission is $5 or $4 with an ad or article about the event. For more information, call (215) 321-3528.

Quality antiques sounds great to me. Most of the time we see junk so yeah, that makes a difference. I like the idea of saving the old instead of junking it.

BTW  - Still GF to date. I joined a GF Fanpage my friend started. I should see some great options. I like it. I am not so sluggish, losing weight, feel better overall. I bought new jeans today since my old ones kept falling and annoying me. Thanks for asking.

This sounds like the kind of event I could spend the day getting lost in! Maybe it's good it's too far away for me to attend... I just know I'd spend way too much! Super localism post.

Pam: I have to be really giarded when I go to these things!

Gretchen: It's easier to resist when there's a lot of junk, but when the dealers are respected and display really nice things, not so much!

Katerina: Thanks, it is a lot of fun.

Dan: The community centre is literally "the" meeting place in Yardley. A church and a synagogue hold services there, in recent years there have been concerts, kid's drama and musical performances, an more recently an annual showcase of Yardley Business Association members.

Jane: It has survived the recession and it does bring in a lot of people, so I think sales are pretty good. Love the new photo.
