What’s the goal in number of transactions that a new agent should have for his/her first year in this business? Looking forward to your input! Please provide actual numbers, not just “the sky’s the limit” type of comment. The market is Colorado, which is a normal market (didn't have a big boom and didn't have a big crash). Thanks!!!

I would take the approcach how much do I want to make.  Then what is the average sales price and then the commission I will make off of that sale.  Then you know how many transactions you need.  Also what percent from seller and buyers.

unless you are working in a real pricey area, I would say 15-20 deals that close- usted es trabajando con personas latinos y usualmente esa pedazo del mercado es mas dificil y usa mas tiempo.

I think that the right number for a beginner should be 12 transactions excluding rentals. This is one per month.

Ok, I started in March '04. My broker would not let me do anything for the first month except get to know the market and understand the "real real estate" not just what the book says. So sales wise I had April through December and I booked 17 transaction. Actually my first closing was in June so really there was just six months of closings...
