Veterns Day

Veterans Day in my opinion is not only a day which we remember those that served are Country, giving us the freedom that we have today, but those that serve us actively as I speak. If you don't know much about Veterans Day and how it came about, please read this from Wikipedia: Veterans Day

I have been very fortunate to have never lost anyone close to me during War time or even during 911. My thoughts and prayers go out to those loved ones lost during these emotional times. For many of you that know me, I am very passionate about our Country, who we are as a Nation, and for what we stand for. I have had the pleasure of serving in the US. Army for 2 years and I will never forget that part of my life. Here is a nice tribute relating to Veterans Day : Veterans Day Salute (please watch this 2 minute video)

google & Veterans day On a side note, what brought me to remember Veterans Day, which is November 11th, is because of Google. I am always amazed on what they market on certain holidays. If you have read some of my blogs, I also have followed Google in the last year and their new images during specific holidays. If you want to read more : Google & Marketing.... It's Halloween And I want to thank Google for recognizing and remembering Veterans Day.

Jeff, I have to admit when I saw google's logo, I knew it was a holiday but I didn't figure they were helmets for Veterans day until I turned on the TV and saw a commercial for Macy's Veterans day sale.

Paul..... I think we need more reminders as this, because so many people fight the politics of war and don't pay attention to those that are sacrificing their lives. ... no matter what we are fighting and the reasons why.

And you are correct in regards to Google, not worrying about the PC politics and what people might think or what side of the fence that they might be on. thanks for your input.

Ryan.... I think many in the real estate business are working today. Even though banks were closed and schools, because it was a Federal holiday, I think most people in the real estate world worked. I talked to two title companies today that were opened also. Don't forget, the AR gods are getting ready for NAR in Vegas also...

Thanks for your recognition, heads up on Google and the links to these posts. I will make it a point to work my way thru them. By the way, received my retirement orders, pension kicked in... and in process of converting healthcare.

My wife and I went to Patrick AFB to PX and Commissary a few weeks ago. It was great as it had been sometime since we had done this. Traffic was a nightmare....as we neared the east cost the Shuttle Discovery was launched.....absolutely awesome! I had forgot about the launch being scheduled. What should have been a 6 hr excursion turned into about 10 hours.
