January 7-8, 2012 is The Great Train Expo! The Great Train Expo is a national, traveling show that caters to the model railroad enthusiast. The show features operating model railroads, train dealers, collectors, hands-on exhibits, demonstrations, workshops, and much more!

Starting January 12 through 29 kick off your new year with Brea Youth Theatre as they move on down the road in The Wiz! Join this fun and funky musical version of the familiar favorite The Wizard of Oz! The stage will come alive with the singing and dancing of enthusiastic kids under the direction of Stagelight Productions. During the run of this show, performances are at 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, and at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Plus, there are 2:00 p.m. matinees on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are released for sale Tuesday, December 27, when the box office opens at 11:00 a.m. Youth theatre is very popular, so patrons are advised to purchase early to assure the seats and times they would like. Tickets are only $12 each for all ages. To purchase tickets, visit the box office between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Tuesdays through Fridays or call the box office at 714 990-7722.You can also purchase a special price dinner - only $25! - From La Vie en Rose restaurant, featuring country French cuisine, through the Curtis box office.

Coming up Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is the annual Snow Day! Tons of the frosty stuff is delivered to the dam to enable youngsters to sled, make snow people, and have old-fashioned snowball battles. Children are advised to wear warm clothes and gloves. Coming up January 27 - 29, 2012 is the TET FESTIVAL. Sponsored by the Union of Vietnamese Students Association, celebrates the arrival of spring and the first day of the lunar year. The event is held annually in February in the Garden Grove Park.
