Thanks Dad...

EVERY TIME I (probably we) get in a bind and start crying out for help what happens?????

Here it is Sunday afternoon, the house is quite - and I start thinking about my TRUE relationship with Jesus... It's so amazing how quickly we forget those feelings when we're on the airplane claiming "God, if you just get me on the ground I'll change & be on mission for you" - or - when we are one paycheck away from the park benches/rescue mission and shout "Jesus, if you just provide now...we'll never forget & we'll change for you!"... What happens...we forget don't we?  Maybe forget's not the right word...how about adapt.  We end up adapting to our environment again and things go back to "normal".

Yes - Jesus is my provider & yes I've said those same prayers & YES I've gone back to normal... But, it's in the quite times that I realize His presence & forgiveness. Donald Miller writes it best in his book "To Own a Dragon" when he illustrates our relationship with Jesus as a true Father / Child...  I started praying to my Dad after that book & NOT to a God who was a trillion miles away...but a Dad who was right next to me.

You may be experiencing hardships for a number of reasons... go find a quite place & have a conversation with your Dad (Jesus).  Cry with him, laugh with him, pray with him, & ask for guidance from him as you might do with you own parents.  The presence alone will carry you through, but remember - you're not going to hear Him in the busyness of our lives...we'll hear Him during the quite places...

I know it was random, but I feel like someone needed to read that today...

You are loved!
