Chasing Rainbows or Active Rain Members who aren't active..

My Active Rain goal this year is to move up on the leader board.  I know that the higher I go the harder it will be as some of the folks above me have a lot of points!

  Donna510dsmall Real Estate Agent 1,097,929 1,412 70
#2 Jason2 Real Estate Agent 834,007 1,131 162
#3 Dorie_022 Real Estate Agent 786,237 1,424 27
#4 Rl Real Estate Agent 397,468 129 34

But I checked out the next 3 above me (very realistic goal) and they haven't been active in acquiring points in a very long time.  So I'm chasing those Active Rain Members who aren't active.  I plan on passing one by Jan. 14 - it might happen sooner but I know it will happen.

Why have an AR goal?  Points bring about recognition which brings subscribers and referrals and money and......

Hi Gwynn - Good luck moving up the ladder! I think there are quite a few at the top who are no longer active!

Whoo-hoo!  I am having a little fun passing the non-active bloggers, too, in my market.  It's nice to see progress and good luck to yours!

Peggy:  Yea I checked out those above me and made the decision that I could "sprint" pass those who no longer blog or probably don't login.

Aimee: My goal is still alive and well....I'm so close to the next person that I think I will see the number roll to #21 this week.

Ken:  Thanks for helping me achieve my goal.  Business has already picked up and I'm anticipating a great 1st quarter.

Francine:  Best wishes for passing those "sitting" on the sidelines in your market.

Lynda:  Whoppieee....I love the AR members who help propel me forward/upward.  Thanks.

It's easy to move up the ladder. Simply track those you want to pass — one at a time — and then do more than they do. If they do 10 blog posts, do 11, or 12, or 13. You won't get the automatic 225 points, but you'll get the comment points, up to 125 per post. I'm averaging 71 points for my posts over 10, so if I do 20, those extra 10 posts bring me in an average of 710 points. Each week!

Also be sure to use those reblogs. If you reblog ten posts each week, that's an extra 250 points!

Make sure you have a great ActiveRain signature, and then you can do shorter posts, but more of them, because your signature will be on each and every post.

By the way, it would be useful to make your email in your signature into a link. Make it easy for people to email you.

Russel:  Thanks for all the great tips in this comment.  I will certainly turn my signature into a link.  Re-blogging happens infrequently so guess I'd better put that on my agenda to reap more points.
