Golf in January . . . Not very Common in Connecticut

It's not very often that we can enjoy warm weather and a snow free view. It's rarer still for our golf courses to be open this early, or late in the season.

Yesterday, was that rare instance when the golf universe was perfectly aligned, with temps in the low 60's and willing friends.

Crestbrook Park Watertown CT

Not many golf courses are still open in Litchfield county, but Crestbrook Park in Watertown CT is still open for play, and will be open until the first snow of the year or the end of January.

Crestbrook is still running their 4 for 3 special. This allows a foursome to play with cart but only 3 pay.

A bonus is a bonus and January Golf in Central Connecticut is a bonus.

Good morning, ED. Golf anywhere north of the frost line in January is uncommon. Saw folks out on the courses over the past few days here too...

How Nice!  We too are experiencing Spring-like weather here in NC (a little more common for us), and it is fabulous!  Of course, Our golf courses never shut down (except for hurricanes).  Glad you are enjoying warm days!

Hi Ed,

I was just thinking yesterday how much fun it would be to go golfing in this mild January weather, and then turn around and drive 30 minutes up to the mountains and go skiing!

Michael, the ground was certainly harder than normal and anything hit towards the green was an adventure.

Joe, the entire Northeast had spring like temps, but we're expecting a cold front and rain to come in. Our Canadian neighbors are sharing

Amy, I used to schedule business trips to NC for mid January just because of that and it was always around a weekend just for a couple of extra days.

Cindy, we have had no snow or even conditions that would allow for snow making in the Northeast, and that does bother some people, not me of course.

Well hope all the golfers enjoy it now.  Unless there is a warm winter up north this year, unfortunately it will be short lived.

Fabulous Ed, if this keeps up you won't have to practise in Spring!! Glad you got out there and enjoyed this fine weather. Although we have been boasting about how great this weather is and warmer than normal today we are only going to hit 33 apparently.  That's ok, as long as it doesn't snow.  Remember last year Ed?

So nice to see that you guys are enjoying some of this warm weather up in CT. Having lived in NYC for most of my life, temperatures in the 60's is definitely a rare occasion. Fore!
