These include Centex, Brookfield Homes, D.R. Horton, and Lennar. The community features 2 new elementary schools, a new middle school and high school. It has a library, plans for community college, and over 1100 acres of permanent open space. Homes range from townhomes to single family homes on small lots to luxury homes on generous lots. San Ramon Windemere Homes were built between 2002 and 2006 and range in size from 1600 to well over 4000 sq ft, with 2 and 3 car garages. Lots are typically in the 3000 to 8000 sq ft range with some lots over 10,000 sq ft.

One criticism that is often made of Windemere is that lot sizes are too small and homes are situated to close to one another. There is some justification for this. Nevertheless, this is not always the case, and those seeking larger lots will find them available. Prices for homes on large lots are higher of course - land is our most expensive commodity in the California Bay Area.
