You may have written on this subject before and even if so it's a good idea to keep it fresh.  Are there new 2012 laws in your area with regards to Short Sales?  Have you began to really narrow the geographical location of your short sale posts?  Get in front of your targeted audience by doing so and don't fret about missing out on the broader audience as well.  There is time to write more than one post.

In the first few weeks of 2011, Short Sales and everything to do with them, was searched heavily on AR.  People are looking at their books and searching for options.  Be that hometown hero that has all the answers!

I'll have to work on this. I actually received a call from an agent in another state who also works at a bookstore and she called to tell me that they were shipping lots of short sale and foreclosure books to Austin!

Thanks for the inspiration. I've had many blogs on short sales, and I do need to refresh some of these blogs and bring them to more current situations. In 2011, nearly half of my listings were short sales, and nearly half of total sales were short sales. Although I still run into agents who won't do anything with short sales, I find that it is a necessary tool in our arsenal of marketable skills.

I am going to work on alot of short sale posts, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to reach out to more areas. I target three counties, which includes multiple cities. Should I write the same post multiple times using different cities as the keywords in each one? Or try to incorporate the different areas in one post?

So true! Short sales are hot for buyers, and now that the holidays are over the banks are back on the foreclosure notices. Hopefully all of our blog posts will be the answer for some.

I'm glad you have this "idea generating" blog to help us AR's find topics to discuss.  However, I am sick of hearing about short sales!  I'll bet everyone else is too.  The sooner they go away, the better.

I just listed a short sale and already have two offers. I was going to write a blog to help agents know the first steps on taking a short sale listing. It seems like people say they are experts, but are absolutely clueless... They should let us SFR Short Sale Experts handle these transactions. 

I agree though... Great group for topics ;)

Sad to say I missed the SFR course when it came to our area. I didn't really want to deal with short sales, but I can see now how it's really hard to avoid that. I'll be wanting to take that course after all!

Great info.  I have done 2 short sales in the past 6 months and being informed on the procees has made all the difference as I have navigated my client thru the mind fields of a short sale.  It is an area we need to bring into the light with more education.
