NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION!!

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to stop procrastinating.  I have been working on my very first blog since the middle  of December.  And by working on it I mean, I have been thinking about it.  planning it, talking about it.  I actually starting writing it two weeks ago but it didn't sound right,  So I started again, and again and, well you get the picture.

My Goal is to write at least one blog every week. I only have to write two this week and I will be caught up and back on track.   I work better under pressure or so I tell myself.   The pressure of listing and selling homes is greater than writing blogs though.  Listing and Selling homes pays the bills and feeds my dog, "Charlie".   Unless there is something I do not know about, "blogging doesn't pay".    But who knows maybe blogging will wake some inner talent of writing.  No, I don't think so, most writers probably write more than a couple of paragraphs a week.

Oh, my gosh, I just got a phone call about a wonderful home I have listed and they want to see it in an hour.  Of course, I told them I couldn't  show it right now that I had to finish my blog.  WRONG!!  My other New Year's resolution was to list and sale more homes.

 I will finish this later.

I have decided to not create any new year's resolutions.... no sense in getting upset when I do not accomplish them.  SO, I just keep doing what I know must be done, with small daily and weekly goals.  Best wishes on your procrastination resolution.

Why don't you do time blocks?  I have a time block from 6am to 8 am every day to write blogs, make. Omments, send out personal notes and it works.

Good luck with your blogging efforts!  I'm relatively new here and as you described, the first one was the hardest!  For me, I'm not sure if it was procrastination or deathly fear.  But, you'll see ... it will get easier :)

Hello Sherry, you're a rather famous lady in this grand state of Alabama and I for one am happy to see you here.  I can't say that I make new year resolutions, but I have set goals that I intend to keep...splitting hairs maybe.  Anyway, I know that you do a great business, but blogging and being a part of ActiveRain certainly won't hurt.  I've received referrals through members and sent out lots of referrals, closed transactions and also get calls regularly from people who have read my different posts so I'm reaching my audience and making the phone ring.

I look forward to reading your posts.
