What in the world is Phone Stacking.. Newest Craze? I think so.

After quickly browsing today's hot topics I kept stumbling upon one repeating phrase. Phone Stacking. The phone stacking re-blogs and re-tweets were adding up quickly and I had to find out what it was. What I came across is a trend that I can see hitting restaurants and meetups everywhere!

The original Phone Stacking rules were posted by a blogger named Brian Perez (aka Lil b) on his Tumblr page. When I found this post there were over 60,000 responses on his page alone. TALK ABOUT VIRAL!

Phone Stacking

The basics of the game include the following rules:

Phone Stacking Game

-The game takes place at a restaurant right after everyone has ordered.

-Each individual at the table places their phones face down in the middle.

-The first person to check their phone during the meal or flip it over loses!

-Loser pays the bill

-Nobody can touch their phones until the check comes.

*If 2 people flip over their phones simultaneously they split the bill.

*You can't mess with anybody else's phone

*Emergencies are an exception

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know my fiance gets on me when I use the phone at dinner or when we are with our friends so I think I might give this challenge a try... I can already see groups of people in the hip restaurants in my area with stacks of phones on their tables.

What are your thoughts on this? Would it be realistic for a Real Estate agent that has to rely on their phone for a lot of their business matters?

Abe:

Where did you first hear about phone stacking.  I guess these people don't have enough to do.  Very funny.

Well that sounds like a great idea.... if you are with close friends and you don't want to be interrupted. However, if I am with a bunch of boring work people then I will not play.

Evelyn, I saw it trending on Twitter, Googled it and came up with dozens of news stories from the major networks.

Sussie- I'm definately going to try it out with my friends, not co-workers or clients that's for sure!

Abe, since I mostly go out with my family, this isn't going to work.... UNLESS my son David is there minus his grilfriend.  I'm just sayin'.

That's just too funny.  I say, make sure you do this with a busy Realtor and you're sure to get some free meals!

Ha! Love it! Finally a way to enjoy a meal with UNDIVIDED attention! Seems like a most folks could resist for an hour.  It would be nice! I would NEVER have to pay!

Hi Abe, I like this game ( Phone Stacking) and for sure I have always felt it rude to accept calls or play with the phone if you are out to dinner with clients or friends. When the menu's come, the phones should get turned off.

Abe-had not heard of this before at all, but then again, been away from my regular reading and commenting for a few weeks, came to this from Kristi Knudson's re-blog. Probably not realistic for a bunch of agents, but don;t think 'regular citizens' would have a much easier time of it either.
