For those whom are remembering our veterans today, one group who have received little fan fare, and frankly witnessed war in it's worse incarnation, and they are those who served in World War I.  This startled me though, I had no idea that we were to this point in history.  The last World War I (American) veteran is still alive, but he may not make it another year.  It's too bad these veterans have received far much less attention then their children who served in World War II, but these American's still deserve our admiration and courage.  World War I was a war that many in the world didn't understand, nor did it resolve much in terms of world peace. But the conditions were horrible, I can't even imagine rushing a machine gun, or getting gassed.

So while remembering the World War II veterans, Vietnam Vet's, and Gulf War and Iraq vet's, remember those guy's who donned a uniform, because soon there generation will be long gone.

You can learn a great deal about the history of our country by listening to Veterans. As a Vet I appreciate that you have recognized this day.
