20,000 Points ... It's All Good!

By

HappyLife is about celebrating the small victories as well as the big ones.  I really get a kick out of seeing the posts of my fellow ActiveRain members when they've reached a significant milestone.  The blogs typically appear when someone has reached 200,000 or 300,000 or 500,000 or 1,000,000 points.  And, I certainly understand how great that moment must feel.  I can hear the excitement, the joy, the satisfaction, and the sense of accomplishment in the paragraphs of each and every one of those blogs.  Since joining ActiveRain, I’ve discovered that in order to be successful here, you have to sacrifice a little blood, sweat and tears.  It takes a lot of hard work, long hours, and unwavering devotion to create a meaningful impact.  In other words, it is no small feat to make it into the big leagues.  Of course, it is my goal to someday have a little icon under my name with a number and a bunch of zeros behind it.  But, until then, a little encouragement goes a long way!

20thSince joining ActiveRain, I've thankfully picked up a few tips about ways in which to earn more points.  Too bad I was a slow learner at first.  Believe it or not, I never even realized I could earn 100 points a day just for signing in!  So, at the beginning, I went nearly a month without logging in.  Hey, we're talking 3,000 points right there!  Well, that’s water under the bridge now -- the past is the past and I’ll just make up the 3,000 points in other ways.  Besides, what difference does it really make if I had hit the 20,000 point mark a little earlier.  Sometimes you have to learn things the hard way.  The fact is ... I hit the 20,000 point mark!  And to me, that's worth celebrating!

Congrats Carie! There are so many benefits to AR, the point system is just a small piece of the pie. Keep up the hard work and Happy Blogging!

Mike:  Thank you so much!  I agree ... the points are just a small part here.  The other benefits of AR are pretty wonderful!

Congratulations! It's always good to find a reason to celebrate. Big or small. I haven't even reached 15 yet.

Congratulations, Carie!!!!!  Every milestone is exciting, isn't it?  Keep up the good work.  Points will come along with education, friendship, camaraderie and - as you said - blood, sweat and tears. :)

Happy 20K points. Yes, it's the little milestones that we celebrate along the way. I love to look at them as "small" goals instead of a big huge one.

I remember how excited I was when I hit 13,000 points because it meant I was the leader in my City. Like passing up a mobile notary was any big deal ... LOL! Congrats, keep blogging.

Carie, I laugh at us all because we do all sorts of things for "points" which have no value except to demonstrate how much we have done for points.

Shows what happens when you put a bunch of self motivated people in a group and offer then a way to excel.  Away we go!!!

I am no different, aren't we a fun bunch of peeps?  Welcome to the rain!

I see the points only as a way to make sure i get enough work done. I get warned by the family that it is getting late... an did  you make sure to blog today... They know i have been doing all sorts of contests and want to make sure i don't miss deadlines... LOL

What a truly supportive community to teach us what we have not yet learned and just what to do next. It is fun to be here, and although being here is more fun than driving grumpy clients to see yet another home ( that is another blog of great lenghts) we do have to spend some time doing just that. Working with what we have been able to make money with. Going forward I am hoping to make great things happen.. but here it seems that the motivation can come from something as simple as points!

Congratulations!

Marge:  Yes, a fun bunch of peeps indeed:)  Glad to be here and thanks for stopping by!

Janis:  Your family support is cute :)  And, I agree ... the community support is inspiring and uplifting -- and the points sure do have a way of giving you that little extra motivational push!

Carie, you've inspired me. I don't have a "point" goal in mind but I'm aiming to move up in my state ranking. Less than  1000 points to go to make it into the top 200s instead of the 300s. (I've blogged nearly 1000 points since my last comment on this blog.)
