CLEAN EATING!! KNOW WHAT'S ON YOUR PLATE..IT'S THAT CLEAN!!

I've been trying to eat more organic, eliminate processed foods..basically "Eat Clean"  I must admit, it's not that easy. I read articles, do research online, ask for advice and put it into action.

Working out five times a week, an hour a day makes me feel great but exercising is only 20% of what works to feel good and be healthy. Other 80% is what we put in our mouths on a daily basis. I've been TRYING to eat clean the past four months, buy organic, grass fed meat, eat six times a day and drink LOTS of water and I've lost 9 pounds and feel more energetic and better than I ever did.

Here's a typical day's menu for me:

-One whole egg and egg white from the second egg with spinach, cooked in coconut oil, 4 glasses of water and black coffee

-Greek yogurt with blueberries for snack

-Salad and tuna for lunch

-Fruit for snack and raw almonds

-Fish or grilled chicken breast with salad

-Berries for snack

I find myself eating more and season my food with fresh herbs which gives it a great taste. It's never too late to start eating better..try it..you will see the results..I HAVE!!

Congratulations on your accomplishments.  We would all be better off to eat better.  I find myself eating a lot of junk food which is neither good for my body or mind.

Rose Mary, Believe me, I once ran to junk food for comfort or convenience but NO MORE!! I don't like the word diet, not in my vocubulary. Since I changed the way I eat, I've lost weight, feel energetic and actually see results of my workouts. Thanks for your comment.

Beth, losing nine pounds...that's terrific.  I've been watching Dr. OZ these past few weeks as he is talking about weight loss and eating right....When I miss his show, I just go to his web site.  I've also started back to my exercise routine and eating healthy.

Rebecca, I don't look at it as a weight loss but healthy eating, working out is something I truly enjoy and seeing results push me even more. When I feel good about myself, it reflects in every area of my life. Proud of you!! keep doing it.

Beth that's a great menu!! I see my friends that are very overweight and they hardly eat! (But when they DO eat it's a twinkie here and there. No good stuff. I LOVE cocount oil and try to cook with it a lot. It's really healthy for you. I need to get to the gym more than just 3 times a week but am working up to that habit. Thanks for your comment Tammy, there's wealth of information in your Blog Posts, Thank You. If you can't make it to the gym, try to do some type of exercise at home for at least 30-35 minutes and while you're folding laundry or doing dishes, do squads!! You'll get motivated once you start seeing results.
