Why should you vote for Beaufort, North Carolina?  Well, not only is it one of the most beautiful areas I've ever seen, it is home to some of the coolest festivals & events.  The folks in Beaufort, North Carolina are friendly and sport an unbelievable amount of True Southern Hospitality.  There are many wonderful shops & restaurants to waste away your days, and the views are AWESOME!  Walk the waterfront to spot Wild Ponies across the way, or stop into the Maritime Museum to learn about the infamous pirate, Blackbeard.  Enjoy a Ghost Walk or viewing of historic homes.  Head over to the Old Burying Ground, or learn how to build a boat while enjoying the warm breeze off Taylor's Creek.  Take a guided boat tour or paddle around yourself to enjoy the view of Beaufort from the water.

Well, since you're one of the coolest people I know, if you think Beaufort, NC is one of the coolest small towns, then it just has to be!

Amy,  I'll go vote for Beaufort in a minute but first a vote for You.  What an great testament you post here to our little sister town.  Your slide show is wonderful.  You did not say that Beaufort is just across the drawbridge from Morehead City and fifteen minutes from Pine Knoll Shores. 

Sometimes when I just need to feel like a tourist, I drive over, park my car and walk around the beautiful, quaint little historic town that is Beaufort.  I never fail to get a sense of peace and tranquility.  I hope she wins.

Amy, wasn't there a movie named "A Walk To Remember" with Mandy Moore that was made in Beaufort?  From what I remember in the movie and of course the photos you include, Beaufort NC is a beautiful place to live.

Nick - "A Walk to Remember" is set in Beaufort, NC, but was not filmed there.  Nicholas Sparks lives in this area and most of his books take place in Eastern North Carolina (That in itself is cool enough to win this award).  Beaufort is a beautiful, historical, fun & COOL place.... I love this area.... Can you tell?
