There is a "Special Election" being held in Brentwood, NH today, November 13, 2007 to fill the recently vacated seat for the position of State Representative. The seat was left vacant by the passing of long time servant of the people, Don Buxton, in June of 2007. Don was well known and loved by his constituants and considered a "voice for the people" at the State House in Concord, NH.
There are two candidates hoping to capture this chair and we the people of Brentwood are privileged to decide the outcome of this race. The candidates have each run their campaigns and made their voices heard so now it is up to us, the members of the voting community, to go to the polls and make a decision.
We are a privileged people here in the United States of America. We have the right to vote. It is one of the basic freedoms our forefathers secured for us at the foundation of this great country. It is a freedom that we, as a nation, continually fight for and hold dear to our hearts.
So, if you live in Brentwood, please get out there and vote today. Continue to exercise the privilege we hold dear. You know what they say, "use it or loose it".
The ballots will be cast at a new venue today. The newly finished Recreation Center Building located on Route 125 off the southbound lane across from Gigante's business plaza.
Yes, you know the place, it is where all the kids go to play ball and now our older children are enjoying for their Friday night dances.
I encourage each person in Brentwood to not only vote but to check out this wonderful facility paid for by your tax dollars. I hope to see you at the polls.
