Living in Madison Alabama there is no doubt that you've heard of or driven through Clifts Cove.  Located centrally in Madison on Hughes Rd. Clifts Cove is Luxury living at its best in one of the areas most popular school districts,  Bob Jones High, Discovery Middle and Rainbow Elementary schools.  At a time of the year that will soon wake up to the spring market season, sales of higher end homes are actually improving.  At the time this market report was published an additional home, just shy of one million dollars went pending making that a total of four.  This is important because a pending sale is essentially the same as a sold property, that is, all contingencies have been met or removed and the principals are simply waiting to close thus improving the sales stats not reflected in the graphs.  Also that a million dollar home sold in the dead of winter shows that even high end buyers are out there looking.  As mentioned in other Huntsville and Madison Alabama market reports, much of the credit for the good housing market in the Northern Alabama area, particularly Huntsville and Madison Alabama is in some part supported by the high tech jobs offered by NASA, Redstone Arsenal and many of NASA's sub-contractors, such as Boeing, Intergraph, Brown Teledyne, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and many other high profile, high tech companies that provide a strong economic base to the area.

I believe that because of the stronger market conditions that exist here and because of the seemingly improved economy in many areas around the nation our market is turning a corner and opening up increased housing demand.  With jobs at the center of an up tic in housing, Madison Alabama's lower unemployment rate of just over 7% compared to the national average of around 8.5% is an indication that Madison Alabama is a little ahead of the curve.
