The Lower Republican Natural Resources District in Southwest Nebraska has announced a program for idle irrigated acres to receive a $10/irrigated acre tax reduction.
To receive this reduction in taxes, you must file the paperwork by March 1, 2012.
The acres this is most likely to cover are your irrigated quarters that you have in the CREP or CRP type programs.
While it does not seem like a lot...if you have 300 irrigated acres sitting idle, that is $3,000 that can be in your pocket instead of the taxing authorities!!
