Not So Speechless Sundae ~~ Comfort Zone

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with MoonDancer Realty, Dillsboro,NC NC# 218097

They are just names in an article until you can see them laid out. We used to sell the dickens out of raised relief maps when we were in retail with Venture Out, our camping and backpacking store. We keep a framed raised relief map in our office and property hunters are as fascinated by the area’s layout as we are.

This is a small portion of our comfort zone. All the names I’ve posted about and more…to the west you can see Dillsboro, where MoonDancer Realty’s office is located, towards the east and kind of in the center of the photo is Balsam where I live right next to the Blue Ridge Parkway and continuing further east is the Town of Waynesville that I love to show property in and spend a good bit of time with my camera.

Haywood and Jackson Counties Western NC

It would be interesting to share these views of where we all live and work. Where’s your comfort zone?

The more rural the area, the larger area you tend to cover. In Southwest Florida our coverage territory is usually smaller. Some go beyond their areas of expertise, but most stay focused!

Hi Barbara, thanks.  I don't know how we'd "manage" without her!

This is so true Wayne.  I'm very comfortable in four huge counties and can stay focused with those.  The others?  I'd probably refer out.

Mona, In our area we have to cover one and a half counties. I try to stay within 30 minutes of our office if possible and we are in a low traffic area. Your office manager looks good!

When I know that it is not an area that I can service well have the ability to be familiar enough to give good recommendation that is the time to refer to a great Realtor.  Those that try to handle business for the sake of a commission check and don't have a clue about an area are disrespecting their client and of course the potential for lawsuit for poor representation/mistakes looms.

I feel there is enough business in my area that I concentrate to be the best there.  I'm comfortable and so are my clients!

I don't know what it is - maybe it's part of our inherent curiosity as humans but I just LOVE looking at a map!  Funny how being oriented in space gives one such satisfaction.  If everyone posted their comfort zone at AR, what a great resource.  Awesome idea!!

Hi Keith, isn't it great being in a low traffic area?  That's the only way we can do this size area easily.

Hello Brian, there's probably one of these for the whole country.  Might not have the mountains though ;-D

Hi Cindy, we love the name of our company...it gets a lot of notice.

Connie, for sure no one should try to sell in an area they aren't comfortable.

Chris, I thought it would be fun to see these maps from everyone too.

What a great idea, Mona!   I'll have to look for a map to share our area here and my comfort zone!

Have a great week!!!

DeeDee that would be great, I really like seeing the different areas and always prefer to see the map over the gps.
