Weltanschauung: the guiding principles and philosophy of an organization; a world view
Isn't that a great word? Some of you have probably seen quite a few articles or posts about this recently.
Our challenge asks us to focus on an aspect of the Weltanschauung that we see as a special part of ActiveRain.
My first choice is the last one in the guiding principles:
10. ActiveRain believes that it is in the best interests of real estate professionals to build a community that is focused on educating one another. ActiveRain believes its future depends on members of all experience levels openly sharing their experiences and best practices with others in the field. This communal dialogue offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and is the way to share in the dynamism and excitement that constitutes the modern real estate business.
One of the first things that excited me about this Community was the interaction of the various professionals in one common goal ---- to teach, or in some cases, to warn.
I thought that this was very unique given the atmosphere of the office in the Big Box I started my career in. In that office, no one shared anything, except, of course, information about the listings that they wanted to sell.
There were classes, of course, but no one ever fully shared any "insider" information. It was every man and woman for himself/herself.
But, here on the Rain, people are so very generous with information both technical and otherwise. Here, you will find great marketing ideas, SEO information, best phones, laptops and deals. People tell you about bad experiences and warn you about scams and scary people.
This is truly a Community of generous, caring individuals who will give you any information you request.
I have called several Rainers about questions I have had when I started, and, without fail, 99 percent took or returned my call shortly and gave me even more information than I asked for. They answered questions I didn't even know to ask.
Weltanschauung. It is a great word, and an even better way of viewing our Community.
